FIFA has announced a record distribution of funds for the 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 national teams. According to official data, the organization will distribute a total of $871 million, a 15% increase compared to the Qatar edition and the largest amount in the tournament’s history.
Each participating national team will receive at least $12.5 million. This amount includes $10 million for qualifying for the tournament and an additional $2.5 million as a “preparation contribution,” covering expenses for training camps, travel, and logistics.
According to reports, the increase in these payments is also linked to the more complex organization of the tournament, which for the first time will be hosted across three countries: United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In addition to the base payment, FIFA has also planned additional subsidies for teams with fewer financial resources, as well as an increase in the number of tickets allocated to delegations, with a total value exceeding $16 million.
The World Cup winner will receive $50 million, while the runner-up will earn $39 million. These figures once again confirm the significant financial growth of international football and the economic importance of the world’s biggest tournament.
