Nurse dies in accident, truck driver arrested

The Elbasan police announced this Tuesday that they have arrested the truck driver following a serious accident that occurred a day earlier on the “Gramsh–Porocan” road.

According to preliminary investigations, 38-year-old Shaban Kotorri, a resident of Gramsh, is charged with the criminal offense of “Improper driving of vehicles,” after the accident in which Dëshira Hoxha, a nurse, lost her life.

In the official statement, the police reported that, in addition to the victim, passenger Albana Boja, 39, was injured. She is currently under medical care and, fortunately, is out of life-threatening danger.

Authorities emphasize that legal procedures continue to fully clarify the incident, while the arrested driver is being held in custody for further investigative actions.
