“Our life’s work went up in flames”/ Livestock farmer in Çërravë loses entire herd in fire

A tragic incident occurred in the village of Çërravë in Pogradec, where a fire engulfed a farm, causing massive damage to livestock. According to the farm owner, the flames broke out in the early morning hours, burning down the entire stable and killing 170 sheep.

The event has deeply shocked the local community. The affected farmer, who had built his farm through years of hard and honest work, has appealed for help from state authorities.

“I’ve lost everything. I can’t cope with this loss alone. This was our livelihood the entire investment of my family. We need help from the government,” he told the media.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, though early suspicions point to an electrical fault inside the building. Fortunately, no human injuries were reported, but the material damage is extensive and irreparable without institutional support.

Residents of the area have also called for urgent assistance, urging authorities to take swift action to support the family that has been left without any source of income.
