Police: Apartment used for prostitution uncovered, Chinese madam arrested in Pogradec

An illegal prostitution activity was being carried out in an apartment rented by two Chinese nationals.
As a result, police arrested Chinese citizen H. F., 61 years old, and declared her compatriot, C. L., 46 years old, wanted.
They are accused of the criminal offenses of “Prostitution” and “Counterfeiting currency.”
Additionally, the owner of the apartment was criminally prosecuted for “Maintaining premises for prostitution.”
During the operation, police seized sums of money in various currencies and four mobile phones.

After two months of investigation using proactive methods, the police operation codenamed “Last night” has been finalized.
Two Chinese women had adapted a rented apartment in Pogradec for the purpose of prostitution. One was arrested, while the other was declared wanted.
The apartment owner was also referred for prosecution.
Seized during the operation were various sums of cash, suspected counterfeit banknotes, and four mobile phones.
The Trafficking Investigation Section, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, conducted a two-month investigation using proactive techniques to crack down on illegal prostitution. The operation, codenamed “Last night,” was successfully finalized.
The apartment, located in neighborhood no. 1 of Pogradec, had been adapted specifically for prostitution.
Through investigative actions, two Chinese nationals were identified as the organizers of the illegal activity. One of them, H. F., 61 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of “Prostitution” and “Counterfeiting currency,” while the second woman, C. L., 46 years old and a resident of China, was declared wanted. Efforts to locate her are ongoing.
The apartment’s owner, L. Xh., 33 years old, resident of Pogradec, was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office and is being prosecuted in a state of liberty for the offense of “Maintaining premises for prostitution.”
As material evidence, police seized cash in various currencies, suspected counterfeit Albanian banknotes found on the arrested woman, and four mobile phones.
In cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, investigations are continuing, as it is suspected that other individuals—both inside and outside the country—were involved in the criminal activity. Phone calls and advertising for the services were reportedly conducted through these networks.
Procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korçë for further actions.
