POLICE / Criminal proceedings in Korçë, Maliq, and Pogradec — Here’s what the police say…

Korçë Local Police Directorate

– The Crime Investigation Specialists at the Maliq Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against:

• F. F., 65 years old, for carrying out unauthorized construction work;

• E. H., 44 years old, resident of the village Dardhas, Pogradec, after being caught

  transporting approximately 20 m³ of illegally cut firewood. The wood was seized as material evidence.

  
  

– The Crime Investigation Specialists at the Pogradec Police Station also referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, initiating criminal proceedings against:

• I. T., 53 years old,

• P. P., 35 years old,

• J. M., 26 years old, and

• J. M., 52 years old, all residents of Pogradec, on suspicion of physically assaulting each other with hard objects following a property-related dispute.

On July 18, 2025, a fire broke out in a vegetated area in the hills of the village Çërravë. Work is ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the fire and to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The case files have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
