Police: Drunk driving in Korçë — criminal proceedings ongoing in Devoll, Pogradec, and Maliq

Specialists from the Road Traffic Sector arrested in flagrante the citizen E.V., 45 years old, resident of Korçë, after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

Specialists from the Crime Investigation Unit of Devoll Police Commissariat referred the case materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings have been initiated against citizens E.M., 39, and N.M., 53, who are suspected of having physically conflicted with each other over trivial reasons.

Pogradec: On 27.07.2025, a fire broke out in a warehouse located in the village of Dunicë, owned by two citizens. As a result of the fire, a quantity of livestock feed was destroyed. Efforts are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Maliq: On 27.07.2025, a fire broke out in the village of Plasë, resulting in the burning of a plot of land with fruit trees. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was caused by an electrical spark from a medium-voltage pole located there.

Procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korçë for further action.
