Prime Minister Edi Rama delivers good news for pensioners first thing in the morning

Around 167 million euros have been deposited into the Special Account of the Pension Fund.

The good news was confirmed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who emphasized that the government will continue the monthly increases for grandfathers and grandmothers in the country, keeping a promise that will be upheld.

“The deposit of around 167 million euros into the Special Account of the Pension Fund. This week, an important financial transfer was also made, directly related to the future of the pension system and to everything we have pledged for the grandmothers and grandfathers of this republic.

As we had previously announced, the budget savings for 2025 would be deposited into the Special Pension Fund at the Bank of Albania, which has just been done with an amount of 167 million euros.

The transfer of these 167 million euros into this fund increases the system’s capacity to meet both the commitments made letter by letter, figure by figure, month by month, year by year to the pensioners, as well as long-term obligations, thereby guaranteeing the promised monthly pension increases for retirees and ensuring the system’s sustainability,” said Rama.
