On the morning of July 10, 2025, a tragic accident struck Pogradec. On the “Pogradec-Qafë Thanë” road near the village of Piskupat, a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Alfons Bleta collided with the curb, lost control, and fell into the lake.

Bleta, father of a three-year-old child and husband of the popular local blogger Ejona Vlogs, died at the scene.

According to police sources, it is suspected that the cause was losing control of the car, possibly due to excessive speed.
