SERIOUS / Collapsed during a “five-a-side football” game, 42-year-old man passes away

A 42-year-old man from Vlora has died accidentally while playing football.

Police said the incident occurred on Thursday at the five-a-side football pitch in the village of Novoselë, where citizen B. R., 42, a resident of Vlora and living in Germany, collapsed during a football match after the ball struck him in the chest. He fell to the ground and died while being transported to the Vlora hospital.

Preliminary investigative actions suggest that the man may have suffered a heart attack.
