A serious family crime took place in Bilisht and nearly ended in tragedy.

Local police reported that a 35-year-old man using two identities stabbed his uncle during an argument over trivial motives and then fled the scene.

The victim sustained injuries to his face and hands and is currently being treated in hospital, out of life-threatening danger.

Preliminary reports suggest the incident was triggered by mental health issues affecting the suspect, who is now wanted by police.

“Specialists from the Crimes Against Persons Unit referred the case to the Prosecutor’s Office and declared wanted citizen V. Sh., alias F. Sh., 35 years old, resident of Bilisht, who suffers from mental health problems, after he stabbed his uncle in the face and hand over minor motives,” official sources reported today (October 5).

Following initial procedures, the Prosecution will determine the full dynamics and exact causes of the incident, while the search for the suspect continues.
