Sexually abused a minor, exploited her situation, sentenced to 25 years in prison

At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, a final decision has been issued in a serious criminal case involving the sexual abuse of a minor.

After the conclusion of the trial, citizen Xh.V. was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years in prison for the criminal offense of “Sexual or homosexual relations with a minor,” as stipulated in Article 100 of the Penal Code.

Criminal proceedings No. 26, registered on January 13, 2023, included investigations into several serious crimes, including “Sexual or homosexual relations with a minor,” “Exploitation of prostitution,” and “Unauthorized possession of weapons, explosive devices, and ammunition,” as defined in Articles 100, 114, and 278/2 of the Penal Code.

Investigations proved that Xh.V., taking advantage of the minor’s family’s difficult economic situation and his personal acquaintance with her, invited her to his residence. He then exploited her vulnerable situation to engage in sexual acts.

Authorities emphasized the importance of continuing investigations into crimes of this nature and the need to protect minors at every stage of the criminal and social process.
