Two 23-year-old citizens have been arrested by Korça police after assaulting forward Saleh Salem, a player for Skënderbeu, on Thursday midday.
The two arrested individuals repeatedly struck the Egyptian player in the head, causing serious injuries, though he is not in life-threatening condition.
The motives for this serious incident remain unknown.
Sources from Korça police also report that three other individuals who accompanied the two arrested have been criminally charged.
An official statement from the State Police is expected.
