Smuggled vehicles discovered in Leshnicë – Criminal proceedings launched against a 33-year-old

Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes have referred materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, leading to the initiation of criminal proceedings against D. Sh., a 33-year-old resident of the village of Stropcka.

During an inspection carried out at his private service center located in the village of Leshnicë, police services discovered and seized four partially dismantled vehicles that lacked the necessary import or origin documentation. Preliminary data suggest that these vehicles were smuggled from the United Kingdom with the intention of being illegally sold within Albanian territory.

Investigations are ongoing to verify the supply chain and to uncover whether other individuals are involved in this illegal activity.

Authorities emphasize that controls and investigations will continue to combat economic crimes and smuggling, aiming to strengthen the rule of law and protect the domestic market.
