South Korea came from behind to defeat the Czech Republic in their second Group A match of the FIFA World Cup. The game, played at Estadio Akron in Zapopan, Mexico, ended in a 2-1 victory for the Asians.
The Europeans opened the scoring in the 59th minute through defender Ladislav Krejci, who found the back of the net to give the Czech Republic the lead. However, South Korea responded strongly, equalizing through Hwang In-beom in the 67th minute before Oh Hyeon-gyu completed the comeback with the winning goal in the 80th minute.
With the victory, South Korea moves into second place in Group A with three points, level with Mexico, which defeated South Africa last night. South Africa and the Czech Republic occupy the bottom two spots in the group, both still without a point.
