Three modern meteorological stations have recently been installed in the Korçë area to assist farmers in cultivating apples and cherries. Equipped with advanced sensors and digital traps, these stations represent an important step towards the development of smart agriculture in the region.
The goal of this project is to improve the quality of agricultural production and help farmers adapt to the challenges posed by climate change by providing real-time data on weather conditions and factors affecting crop health.
Key benefits for farmers include:
Better adaptation to changing climatic conditions
Early prevention of diseases affecting crops
Improved working conditions in the field
Reduction in pesticide use and overall production costs
This important investment has been made possible by GIZ Albania and WB Adapt, in cooperation with QTTB Korçë, AREB Korçë, and ADAD Malore.
Technology serving agriculture is becoming a key tool to empower rural communities and better face future challenges.
