The body found a month ago in Kolonjë has been identified! The person had been reported missing in June

The Kolonjë Police Commissariat has clarified the case of a nearly decomposed body found in the village of Mollas.

The body was discovered by a local resident, who notified the police on July 7. The authorities sent samples for DNA analysis as well as for anthropological examination to facilitate the identification of the body.

It has been reported that today the victim was identified as a 75-year-old man who lived in the city of Korçë. In June of this year, the victim’s wife had filed a report at the Korçë Police Commissariat after losing contact with her husband.

Scientific analyses confirmed the identity of the 75-year-old, who is suspected to have suffered from health issues, specifically memory loss (dementia), and died of natural causes in Mollas, Kolonjë.

The Kolonjë Police continue to work on fully documenting the case.
