Erest Lamellari, one of the young footballers who has made a name for himself as a talent emerging from Korça, will not be part of Skënderbeu this season either. Although there were expectations that the young defender would return to the Korça team after being on loan at Kukësi, reliable sources confirm that Lamellari has chosen to stay for another season with the northeastern club.
The 21-year-old central defender, who regularly played for Kukësi last season, has shown maturity and stability in a very sensitive position on the field, qualities that would greatly benefit Skënderbeu, especially in building a solid defense with young players who have grown within the club’s philosophy.
His absence from Korça is seen as a missed opportunity for the club, which in recent seasons has clearly needed reinforcement in the backline. Lamellari, as a product of Skënderbeu’s academy, could have represented not only continuity for the younger generations but also tangible help in a department that has often sought stability.
On the other hand, staying at Kukësi could be an important step for his professional development, offering more minutes in the top league and experience under the pressure of a club with continuous ambitions.
For the Korça fans, there remains hope that this departure is not permanent and that in the future, Erest Lamellari will return to contribute to the jersey that nurtured him as a footballer.
