The “golden” road collapses again / The Qukës–Qafë Plloçë axis blocked by falling rocks

The Qukës–Qafë Plloçë road axis was blocked again at around 02:00 this morning as a result of landslides and large rocks falling onto the roadway.

According to preliminary information, substandard construction work and recent rainfall have caused terrain destabilization, once again creating problems this Sunday on this road segment.

Despite costing 260 million euros, the “golden axis” associated with Belinda Balluku faces recurring issues.

As a result, vehicle traffic has been suspended, and drivers are advised to avoid this road and use alternative routes until further notice.

Relevant authorities are expected to intervene to clear the road and restore traffic, while the situation continues to be monitored due to the risk of further landslides.
