The Roots of Kolonjë – Florenc Prodani
Florenc Prodani was born on April 11, 1974, into a large family from Kolonjë, one of the families that has left its mark on the very foundations of the city of Ersekë. Known to all Kolonjë residents as Lenci, from an early age he divided his passions between football and art. Although talented in sports, he chose the latter, the stage, a choice that seemed to be written in his blood, as he followed in the footsteps of his uncle, the brilliant actor of Albanian theatre and cinema, Aleko Prodani.
He took his first steps in theatre while still in high school, under the direction of the master Paskal Prifti.
Later, in 1998, he became an active member of the artistic and cultural groups in Ersekë, at a time when Kolonjë’s artistic life was being revived with great passion and dedication. From that time to the present day, Florenc Prodani has never been separated from the stage.
Together with artists such as Anastas Rrushi (Caci), Luftëtar Mullajmeri, Koço Qirici, as well as many other actors and creators, Lenci has carved out distinctive and unrepeatable characters that have remained deeply embedded in the memory of the Kolonjë audience both on the main stage of the “Fan Noli” Theatre and on the more intimate stage of the puppet theatre.
Whether in parody or in humorous characters full of “salt” and finesse, Florenc Prodani has left deep traces and strong roots on the Kolonjë stage. His career has also extended beyond Kolonjë, to the theatres of Korçë and Tirana, including the National Theatre, with the play “Karnavalet e Korçës,” directed by Erion Isai. He has also been part of the variety show “Se ke djemtë në Amerikë,” as well as cinematic sketches for end-of-year productions at ART Korça, directed by Guri Koço.
Florenc Prodani has also contributed to cinematography, appearing in the film “Majonezë” by Italian director Giulia Grandinetti.
Above all, Florenc Prodani remains a kind-hearted and respected individual. Today, he continues to contribute his talent at the Center of Culture and Art of the Municipality of Kolonjë, as a director and actor, but above all as an invaluable artistic asset and an incomparable citizen.
