They tried to avoid the alcohol test by bribing the police, 6 drivers arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol

The number of drivers arrested in Durrës for driving under the influence has reached six, some of whom tried to avoid alcohol testing by offering money to Traffic Police officers.

During the weekend, within the framework of the “Weekend” action plan, police arrested five drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol and without a driving license. Two of them, citizens N. N. and H. M., attempted to bribe police officers by offering sums of money to avoid alcohol testing and arrest.

Testing showed that N. N. was driving with an alcohol level of 1.62 mg/l, while H. M. had 1.57 mg/l.

During intensive monitoring, citizen D. M. (1.22 mg/l) and citizen D. Ç. (2.21 mg/l) were also arrested for driving under the influence. Meanwhile, on “Hysen Kertusha” street, citizen R. D. was arrested for driving without a license.

The investigative materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offenses of “Irregular driving” and “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions.”

The Durrës Traffic Police call on all drivers to respect traffic rules, not to drive under the influence of alcohol, to follow road signs, and not to use mobile phones while driving.
