On July 9, 2025, around 11:29 AM, a fire was reported in the village of Plovisht, within the Administrative Unit of Gorë, Maliq Municipality, affecting about 1 hectare of agricultural land. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.
The fire was brought under control within minutes thanks to the swift intervention of the responsible services and was completely extinguished by 11:50 AM. The operation involved two fire trucks with seven firefighters, ten forestry service personnel, four volunteers, and two municipal vehicles. For security in the area, three State Police units with two vehicles also assisted.
According to preliminary data from the Forestry Directorate in Maliq, the fire is suspected to have been caused by the negligence of some tourists who left a fire burning. Thanks to the quick response, the flames did not spread to the surrounding forested area.
Local authorities and civil protection structures urge increased caution, especially during these hot days, to prevent similar incidents that could endanger the environment and public safety.
