New vaccinations for Covid and the flu have begun, here’s who must get them, according to doctors
The new rounds of vaccinations against Covid-19 and seasonal flu have started, with experts emphasizing the importance of protection, especially for the most vulnerable groups of the population.
According to doctors, Covid cases have been increasing again, so citizens are urged to get vaccinated without delay.
Antiviral medications have proven lifesaving for people with chronic illnesses or the elderly, significantly reducing the risk of complications.
The President of the Association of Hospital Doctors, Matina Pagoni, stated that vaccination against Covid should be done by:
people over 60 years old,
children aged 6 months and older,
citizens up to 59 years old with chronic diseases,
immunocompromised individuals,
and pregnant women.
The Vaccination Commission clarified that citizens over 75 years of age should receive a booster dose every six months after the initial vaccine.
At the same time, flu vaccinations have also begun, which remain essential for protection during the cold months, especially for the elderly, chronic patients, and healthcare workers.
