The Tax Administration calls on all individuals who have income from online platforms to declare it by March 31 through DIVA; otherwise, they will be fined.
Influencers engaged in online advertising are among the main categories required to declare income earned online.
Through an official notice, the tax authorities clarify that in the 2025 Individual Income Declaration, all money earned from social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp must be declared. Profits from YouTube, Airbnb, Booking, or Google must also be reported. Not only income received directly into bank accounts must be declared, but also payments received electronically or in cash.
The Tax Administration states that it possesses data on income circulated through these platforms; therefore, individuals must declare it to avoid penalties.
During the past year, income from social networks that had to be declared in DIVA 2024 amounted to 33 million euros.
The Tax Administration reminds individuals subject to declaration for DIVA 2025 that all income generated during the year must be declared, whether received through bank accounts or any other form of payment, including physical or electronic payments via platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), Google, YouTube, Airbnb, Booking, etc.
