DRILON, THE SUMMER DESTINATION/ More than 24,000 tourists have visited the park this year

Drilon in Pogradec is experiencing a successful tourist season, with more than 24,000 visitors recorded from January through the end of July.

The flow of tourists has increased by 19.4 percent compared with last year, while June and July recorded the highest number of visits. The opening of the Visitor Center is expected to further strengthen Drilon’s role as one of the main destinations in southeastern Albania.

Surrounded by greenery, crystal-clear springs, and the tranquility of Lake Ohrid, Drilon continues to be one of the most popular destinations for tourists during the summer season.

Every day, hundreds of local and foreign visitors choose the park to enjoy the scenery, walks along the water, and boat rides through its natural channels. Drilon, also known to residents of Pogradec as Voloreka, is located around 6 kilometers from Pogradec.

From January through the end of July, 24,131 people visited the park, representing an increase of 19.4 percent compared with the same period last year. The highest number of visitors was recorded during June and July.

The increase in visitor numbers has also been accompanied by investments in infrastructure.

Në park janë ndërtuar rreth 4 mijë metra rrugica për këmbësorët, ndërsa janë zgjeruar hapësirat e gjelbra dhe janë përmirësuar shëtitoret, urat dhe korsitë e biçikletave.

Një tjetër zhvillim i rëndësishëm është Qendra e Vizitorëve, e cila ndodhet në hyrje të Drilonit dhe pritet të jetë e aksesueshme për turistët në muajin tetor.

Qendra do të prezantojë florën, faunën, traditat, vlerat kulturore dhe trashëgiminë arkeologjike të rajonit përmes ekspozimeve dhe pajisjeve teknologjike.

Për turistët, Driloni ofron një kombinim të natyrës dhe aktiviteteve të ndryshme. Krahas lundrimit me varkë, vizitorët mund të fotografojnë mjellmat dhe shpendët e tjerë, të shijojnë gatimet tradicionale në restorantet pranë liqenit dhe të eksplorojnë zonat përreth.
