Meteorologist Lajda Porja has explained the weather situation in the country, providing a forecast for the rain showers that have started at the beginning of February.
According to her, unstable conditions will continue almost throughout the month, with a noticeable improvement expected only in the last days of February.
Speaking on Euronews Albania, Porja emphasized that February will be characterized by relatively high temperatures for this period, but accompanied by frequent rain showers, and in some areas, heavy rainfall.
“We will remain under unstable atmospheric conditions. Today there has been a temporary improvement in the weather. Today’s rain will not be heavy, but tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, heavier showers are expected.
Thursday and Friday mornings will also see rain and cloudiness, while in the afternoons there will be showers. The weekend is also expected to remain unstable.
All days will have rain, with the highest risk on Wednesday and Sunday.
Primarily Shkodra, Lezha, and Durrës will experience intense rainfall, along with the southern areas Vlora, Saranda, Gjirokastra, Përmet, and Tepelena, which remain exposed to showers.
Tomorrow we will have strong winds, mainly along the coast, which will cause problems for maritime traffic.
As for temperatures, they are relatively high, with minimums around 4°C and maximums reaching 18–19°C.
Rain is expected to persist until February 20. Improvement is expected in the last week of February, with dry conditions,” said Porja.
