After a relatively wet January, rainfall has returned to most parts of the country and, according to forecasts, it is expected to continue for a few more days. Speaking on a television program, meteorologist Anila Gjoni provided details about the upcoming weather, explaining that the rain will persist but is not expected to cause serious issues such as flooding or rivers overflowing.
According to Gjoni, this afternoon the rain will affect the entire country, but in the regions of Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Vlorë, and Gjirokastër, it will intensify, reaching moderate levels on Thursday night and throughout Friday. In other parts of the country, rainfall is expected to be lighter, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms.
Temperatures remain relatively high for this time of year, especially in lowland areas. On Friday, minimum temperatures are expected to be around 8°C, while maximums could reach up to 13°C. In mountainous areas, the thermometer will drop to 2°C in the morning and rise to 8°C during the day.
Saturday will bring a slight drop in temperatures and a temporary calm in the rainfall, but it is expected to return after February 1. However, according to Gjoni, no problematic situations are expected: “The rain will be of moderate intensity. We do not expect flooding, rivers overflowing, or similar emergencies,” she said.
For the weekend, the weather is expected to be unstable, with alternating periods of rain and calm, while temperatures will rise by about 2°C on Sunday, February 1.
