Six months after the tragic event in which 20-year-old Guido Dervishllari from Pogradec, a videographer, ended his life, his family continues to live with the heavy void and unanswered questions left behind.
What weighs even more on them is that, to this day, there is no official explanation for what drove the young man to this extreme act.
Relatives say Guido had shown no signs of problems, anxiety, or changes in behavior. At home, he was calm, dedicated to his work, and had left no indications that could have foreshadowed the tragedy of June 7.
However, six months later, the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office appears to remain silent, providing no information on the investigation into the suspected suicide.
For months, Guido’s phone, laptop, and other devices have been seized, but according to his family, they have not yet been examined. No material, message, or communication has been verified, leaving the mystery even deeper.
This raises several pressing questions:
Who were the last people to speak with Guido?
What is contained in those conversations?
Are there any details that could lead to the truth?
If so, why is the Prosecutor’s Office silent?
Why haven’t the seized devices been analyzed?
Relatives note that Guido’s WhatsApp messages still show a lock symbol, indicating that the case prosecutor has not accessed them.
This further reinforces their suspicion that the investigation has not only stalled but has barely started.
The pressing question today is simple yet grave:
What is preventing the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office from clarifying the event? Even just to confirm, with evidence, that there is nothing compromising on his phone, in communications, or on other electronic devices?
The family has sought only one honest and substantiated answer, which they have been waiting for six months.
If this was a straightforward suicide, why has the case not been closed? And if it isn’t that simple, why haven’t the minimal investigative steps been taken to examine the young man’s devices and social media accounts?
In the past six months, murders linked to organized crime have been solved, while for a suicide case, the prosecuting authority seems unable to provide even basic answers in the same time frame.
This is the first public piece written about Guido Dervishllari, hoping the Korçë Prosecutor’s Office will “wake up” and provide even an initial explanation, taking care not to leave an entire family in the dark.
Meanwhile, the family says they are willing to do whatever it takes to receive a clear and conclusive answer.
So far, the only response they have received without even entering the prosecutor’s office handling the case has been a single sentence:
“The case is under investigation.”
But six months of investigation have so far produced only silence.
