In an interview on the Greek television channel “Open,” Pirro Dhima revealed that he has often been bullied, and even today continues to face insults and abuse for being called “Albanian.”

However, Dhima said that he is not bothered by this, even though he does not feel Albanian. He mentioned that he grew up with Albanians and considers them his brothers.

Dhima emphasized that the Greek minority living in Albania and Albanian immigrants in Greece are and should be a bridge for friendship between the two countries, a point also highlighted by Prime Minister Mitsotakis in the presence of Edi Rama in Derviçan, Albania.

When asked by the journalist if he has experienced racism or bullying in Greece, Dhima replied, “Yes.”

“Yes, every day, every single day. From morning to night, they insult me. This has been happening for many years. Even today, some trolls write from morning to night, insulting me, abusing me. They call me Albanian. I don’t feel Albanian, I have never felt Albanian, I am not Albanian,” he said.

“I respect Albanians, I have friends, I have Albanian brothers. I grew up with them. I speak with them on the phone every day. Here in Greece, we have many Albanians, honorable people, family-oriented, who raise their children with integrity.

They have been able to build wealth here, start their own businesses, and are respected hosts.

They are excellent workers. I want to mention the words of our Prime Minister (Mitsotakis), who said in Derviçan, in the presence of the Albanian Prime Minister Rama: the Greek minority in Albania, the Vorioepiri, and Albanian immigrants who have come to Greece should be a bridge of friendship, development, and prosperity for both countries,” he added.
