The National Cyber Security Authority of Albania (NCSAA) has taken immediate action to block a fraudulent scheme aimed at stealing citizens' banking data through fake messages claiming to be from the Albanian Post.
According to NCSAA, the suspicious domain involved in the campaign was promptly reported and sent to the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (EPCA) for blocking. This scam is part of a broader phishing attempt similar to previous incidents where attackers impersonated the Albanian Post to trick users into revealing credit card information.
Official statement from NCSAA:
"The National Cyber Security Authority has immediately undertaken all necessary measures to block a fraudulent scheme targeting the theft of banking data through fake messages sent under the name of the Albanian Post. The dangerous domain has been reported and submitted to EPCA for blocking. This campaign is not connected to any state-sponsored actor, but represents another attempt to steal credit card data, similar to previous phishing cases involving impersonators of the Albanian Post.
Warning: Never share your banking or card information through suspicious forms or messages!
NCSAA continues close cooperation with responsible institutions to prevent any form of digital fraud."
Citizens are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious messages or links. Authorities reiterate that sensitive financial information should never be shared unless through official and verified channels.
