Last night, the Disciplinary Committee announced the punishments for the violence in the Iliria-Skënderbeu match, and to everyone’s surprise, the decision can only be called shameful.

Four Iliria players were punished, and the Iliria-Skënderbeu match will be replayed on December 17 at 13:30.

With this decision, the Committee has essentially punished itself. Violence against Skënderbeu was evident, yet four players were penalized and, most surprisingly, the match will be replayed.

Is there any greater shame? Skënderbeu went to play football in Fushë Krujë but was brutally attacked. The least the Disciplinary Committee could have done was to award the three points to Skënderbeu by default, as the perpetrators of the violence were the home team.

This effectively means that violence in Albanian stadiums is once again tolerated, and replaying this match makes no sense, as it contradicts the Committee’s own decisions.

Skënderbeu didn’t need this three-point award—they are a major club—but the violence should have been completely unacceptable.

Shame, truly shame on the Disciplinary Committee!

And how can the Korçë players now go to Elbasan in a few days to play again against those who think only of violence and physically attacked them? Let FSHF provide the answer…
