The General Directorate of Taxation announced that there are 27 days left until the deadline for implementing the obligation to accept cashless payments through POS/POI devices in a number of economic sectors.

According to the official statement, this obligation includes accommodation structures, transport services, as well as public institutions and companies with state capital, which must ensure the functioning of electronic payment systems at their points of sale.

The tax administration emphasizes that this step aims to increase transparency in transactions, improve services for citizens, and strengthen the formalization of the economy in the country.

In addition, the use of cashless payments is expected to bring greater efficiency in service delivery and reduce the level of informality.

The Tax Authority calls on the affected entities not to delay compliance with this legal obligation until the last moment, as the final deadline is May 30, 2026.
