The cross was reproduced faithfully according to the original, preserving all the intricate details, based on the version held at the Museum of Medieval Art in Korça.

The original cross belongs to the atelier of Master Kostandin, who, along with his students, also painted the icons of the same iconostasis. Over time, the cross suffered significant damage when it was stolen, losing important parts of its decor and relief.

This reconstruction project was carried out by Minuel Çollaku, who relied on museum images and photographic documentation that revealed missing details.

With great dedication and care, he managed to recreate a faithful representation of the old cross.

The carving was masterfully executed by Nikolin Hanxhari, who meticulously replicated every fine detail of the design, reviving the elegance and finesse of the original work.

The cross stands at 170 cm tall and consists of four interlocking parts that form a monumental composition. It features a central body with the figure of Christ, and side elements that display the Four Evangelists. Along the sides are floral ornaments leaves, branches, and flowers creating a rich decorative harmony.

Each of the three side parts contains five large stylized leaves, ending in a bud-like shape. The bottom part includes four similar leaves, though smaller in size.

On both the upper and lower sides of the cross, two suns and two moons are carved; the moons feature faces and radiating light, an artistically refined detail.

Special thanks go to Mr. Marsel Kovaci for fully funding this important project dedicated to the spiritual and artistic heritage of the church and his hometown, Vithkuq.

We also sincerely thank Father Dhimitri Taqka for his assistance throughout the realization of this project.
