Rama reveals when the BONUS for pensioners will start being distributed

Prime Minister Edi Rama attended a meeting with socialists, where he explained the 2026 budget for the Municipality of Tirana.

Rama spoke about pensions, mentioning that 1.7 billion euros will be allocated for pensioners over the next four years. He added that the year-end bonus will be distributed at the beginning of December. He also emphasized that pension increases will continue every January until 2030.

“It is essential that everyone does what is required within their capabilities and positions to ensure that things run smoothly in the Municipality of Tirana. These days, while discussing Tirana’s budget, we also talked about the national budget. Finally, we have implemented what we have long wanted to increase real support for pensioners.

This support will account for the main part of state financing during this fourth mandate, with extra assistance for pensions reaching 1.7 billion euros.

These funds are spread over four years and are included in the government’s medium-term budget. They will help us achieve the goal of raising the average pension to the full urban pension level and the minimum pension to the rural pension level.

This fulfills our main ambition: continuous economic growth, which the IMF has positively noted, and ensuring that this growth is inclusive. The fact that pensioners will also benefit from this continuous increase makes it easier for them.

To clarify what is false or misrepresented 95% of circulating information is either untrue or half-true it has been confirmed that next year, we will distribute the year-end bonus in the same way as last year.

It is not true that the bonus will be given at another time; the year-end bonus will be distributed starting at the beginning of December for the holiday season. From January next year, we will begin increasing support for pensioners. Each January increase will be double that of the following January,” Rama said.
