Nertil Jole / Meeting to promote equality and protection from discrimination

In my office, I welcomed Mr. Arjan Lile, representative of the Egyptian minority at the Committee of National Minorities in Albania; Ms. Etleva Tare, head of the regional office of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination in Korçë; and Ms. Burbuqe Ngraçanj, specialist at the regional office of the Ombudsperson.

The implementation of the Law on Protection from Discrimination guarantees the right of every individual or group to equality before the law, as well as equal opportunities and chances to exercise their rights, enjoy freedoms, access quality services, and receive institutional and social support.

The law also promotes participation in public life and provides an effective mechanism for responding to any form of discriminatory behavior.

I expressed my commitment to encouraging every institution to offer high-quality services to citizens, especially to individuals or social groups who are most vulnerable.
